De medio en medio

Duration 50 minutes

I start from the idea that things re-occur in a space where the body inhabits in the form of mind: memory.

They re-occur as fragments of memory that are held, sometimes at will, other times… without desire.

They are visited like intimate ruins in whose archaeology possibilities of play appear, always play,

multiplying the moments of one same subject

in the loop of images that

signify me.

The reinterpretation of the inaugural staging "De medio en medio" (2005–2025) seeks to reimagine the meanings of the repertoire and the body as a living archive. The purpose is to revisit the concerns, the ideas, the curiosities, rummaging through a memory that updates itself, necessarily through a gender lens that now experiences the transformations of menopause in a new fifty-something body that reimagines itself.

The project approaches female subjectivity from a gender perspective, emphasizing menopause, a stage of transformation and vulnerability. It uses performance as a tool of deconstruction, questions binary categories and stereotypes, and explores how the body, especially that of a fifty-something woman, becomes a living archive marked by time and social norms. This work turns into a heated politics that offers a critical, sensitive and situated response to the need to think of art as a vital, embodied and transformative practice in complex contexts, from a perspective that articulates the personal, the collective and the political.

MARCANDO

OCUPADO

A question that slips away in the depth of the unconscious space, like the sea stirred by dreams.

 9
FUSTREAP

Feet cut through the air, thought treads the ground. Friction composes experiential density in a moving, changing relation of forces, which intensifies the regime with the earth in a gravitational and reciprocal relation of masses.

LA INACABABLE CREACIÓN CONSTANTE DE COTIDIANIDAD

Care persists in the invisible in-between time where we women navigate between the professional and the domestic. In this intermediate space, the conscious choice is revealed: to deliberately build an everyday life that includes care for ourselves and for others.

MIAMOR

The break exposes the futility of seeking ultimate meaning in love, revealing that it was only a provisional construction in the face of a fundamental void. It can be an absurd awakening in which we recognize that neither love nor its loss has ultimate justification, yet this absence of meaning does not erase the lived experience.

MARCANDO OCUPADO

The back part.

Go further in, further in

AUTOTRATO

If I were to start thinking about how easily the mirror reproduces, creates doubles, it would give me the creeps; but I don't stop to think much about it. I just look at my double, I face myself, I confront myself, I affront myself.

I move away, I go along with the game, it's a game, I enjoy myself. I wobble. I search, I always search, what do I find? I enjoy myself.

Who am I? It scares me. I get more tangled. I wobble. I get it wrong. I jump. I fall into a hole. I fall and fall although I try hard. I let go a little. I wobble.

I touch myself, I think I'll be right back. I hope so. They are waiting for me, yes, I think I'll be right back.

USE ME

Domestic chores open a gap in professional development: while we face growing aesthetic and work demands, we carry the whole dimension of life. That complex beauty of accompaniment which, without romanticizing, we recognize as integral to our experience. In this recognition lies the weight and the dignity of a choice that shapes our professional trajectories and the texture of our days.

OCUPADO

Vibratory portal.

8

BURNING INSIDE

Impossible chaos in the body, desire of the blood, heat of the mind.

Intense disorder of highs and lows.

Reverse adolescence. What comes next now?

Agitation.

Fullness.

Beauty.

0

NADA QUE VER

Am I myself as I appear to you?

DESEMPAQUE

The body works as a mask between stability and movement, hiding and revealing at once. It lives remembering multiple temporalities where the past constantly intertwines with the present through dialectical images.

Memory is configured as a space of otherness for the cultivation of multiplicity. It materializes in artistic practices that disorganize perception and sensibility, creating a paradoxical zone of precision and spontaneity where intuition breaks in.
